Bitten By The Beading Bug | Jenngem

As some of you may know, I am an absolute bead fiend. I have at least three cases of beads with me at all times, in every shape and size imaginable. If it sparkles, I must have it. But often times, like any great crafter, I will purchase beads, toss them in my bead organizer, and I won't touch them again until inspiration strikes. But ya gotta have them, you know? Inspiration could hit at any time, and you must always be prepared! That's my motto, at least (and it makes a great excuse to tell the husband why I bought more beads!)

This morning, I was poking around my bead organizers, when I saw these gorgeous blue Chinese cut crystal beads.

They'd been sitting in my bead box for quite awhile now, and no matter how hard I stared at them, I couldn't think of a project to create. I won't just string willy-nilly, it's just not my way. Then instead of a surplus of beads, I have a surplus of jewelry. But, I digress. Today, inspiration hit. Syrus was walking around the house belting out "Let It Go" at the top of his little lungs. That's when it hit me.
See where I'm going with this?

I decided to try my hand at creating a Frozen-inspired necklace! I found larger and smaller crystals, and strung them in graduated order onto head pins, and attached them to some curb chain, and suddenly I had this not-half-bad (if I do say so myself) necklace that would most definitely go with any Elsa or Frozen related cosplay!

I went with a fairly minimalist design, so it can be worn as a cosplay accessory or as a nice accent to an evening dress or outfit. But I kept with the Frozen style color-scheme.

Beading for me, is my solace. I find great joy in it, and concentrating on the stringing and how I'm going to put together a piece really help me to focus my mind away from the other things that are often floating around in my mind. That's why I love crafting. You're able to take all of that excess energy from your mind and turn it into something beautiful.

If you are interested in purchasing this piece, it can be found in our online store.
