My Top 5 Shows To Binge On Hulu | Jenngem
I love streaming video services. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total 90s kid who remembers when we had to go to the video rental store if we wanted to watch a movie. But fast forward thirty years and here we are with a bunch of different streaming services. However, I do have a favorite, and I have to say that it is Hulu. I've been binge-watching a ton of shows and movies lately, because, well, quarantine. But I'm definitely going to share with you what my go-to shows and movies have been lately! You might want to give them a watch!

The Act

Hulu on Facebook

The Act is a Hulu original series. It portrays the lives of Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard and her daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, and the whirlwind story that followed. From the outside looking in, it seemed that Gypsy Rose was a very sick child. We're talking wheelchair-bound. When in all reality, it was all Dee Dee. She suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy. This syndrome is a mental health problem. It is when a caregiver (such as the parent of a child or the caretaker of an elderly adult) make up an illness or an injury. It is considered a form of elder or child abuse. Sometimes even doctors were baffled to the point where they were believing Gypsy Rose was indeed as sick as Dee Dee said she was. But they eventually got wise. There is so much more to the story. You're going to have to see for yourself. Joey King and Patrica Arquette give an impeccable performance. All of the episodes are streaming on Hulu.

American Horror Story

AHS on Facebook

I will admit it. I am a horror junkie. So when I first discovered AHS, I was so excited! But then, as most people have, severed ties with cable and went to streaming instead. I was quite certain that I would never see any new episodes of AHS again. But then I found that after airing on FX and FXX, the episodes are then put on Hulu for American Horror Story fans to watch! You can pretty much imagine how happy I was. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters? Amazing actors. Oh! And Jessica Lange, and Lily Rabe, and Taissa Farmiga...I could go on and on! My favorite season is a toss-up between Freak Show and Asylum. Do you watch AHS? If you do, what is your favorite season? All seasons are now streaming!

The Good Place

The Good Place on Facebook

Oh, this show is such a treasure in and of itself. I love the comedy, I love the storyline, I just love everything about this show. With Kristen Bell playing the lead alongside other amazing actors like Ted Danson, Maya Rudolph, and Jameela Jamil, who I adore, all play their parts incredibly. When it seems as they are in "The Good Place," after they had died, it turns out they are actually someplace entirely different. But I don't want to give too much away! The show is full of twists and turns that you won't see coming!

Bones on Facebook

I've been watching Bones for years. Again, before we went the way of streaming services. It is definitely on my top shows that I love to watch. There are tons of episodes to binge-watch, so many that a whole weekend isn't even enough! I think what I love so much about this show is the suspense that surrounds the mysteries in the episodes. You never know what is coming or where it will come from!

The Handmaid's Tale

The Handmaid's Tale on Facebook

Based on Margaret Atwood's 1985 dystopian novel of the same name, The Handmaid's Tale tells the story of Offred (one of many Handmaids), an oppressed woman in a society run entirely by men. Handmaids serve as vessels, essentially, to carry a child for the family that they are assigned to. I cannot say that I have read the book yet. But it is on my list of things to read this summer! All I know is that I have been loving the show, and Elisabeth Moss kills it as Offred! Remember Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls fame? She's in there too! Check it out when you can!

These are only my top five favorite shows to binge on Hulu. But there are plenty of others! If you're feeling bored and looking for something to watch, I highly recommend my above recommendations. You won't be disappointed!
